Pushing the project to locations/teams will add tasks to the location's Tasks page. The Dashboard and Company Overview pages will automatically update with a graph(s) for the project. There are two steps:
Add Locations to Scope
Which locations will participate in this project? In this step you'll be able to select locations by their names, abbreviations, or search by a combination of location attributes, such as Brand, Region, Continent, etc.. You must have access to the location in order to add it to scope.
- Select Admin > Projects > and select your project's name
- Select the blue “Launch Location Actions” button at the top right
- Select the blue “Add Scope” button at the top right
- Search for Locations that will participate in the project. There are three ways to search:
- Search by Location Abbreviation – this is the default option when you open this slide-out
- Search by Location Name – Select the blue “Search By Name” option to switch to this type of searching
- Search by Location Attributes such as Brand, Region, Continent, Country, Opening Date, Type, etc. - Select the blue "Customize" option to switch to this type of searching
- Highlight the location(s) of your choosing the Search Results box and Select the down arrow button to add them to the “Locations to Add” list. You may repeat this search-and-add process until you find all of the Locations you need
- Select the blue “Add to Scope” button
Pushdown the project
Next, you will want to push the project to the locations by selecting the tasks to be added and choosing a date that the project should be finished.
- On the Location Actions page, Select the Bulk Update option in the top menu
- Select the checkboxes of the Location(s) you’re assigning the Project to
- Select the Pushdown option at the top of the page
- In the slide-out, select the Baseline to pushdown, the Project Manager, and Zero Date
- Select the Push button at the bottom of drawer
Advanced Pushdown Options
During the pushdown process you can decide if you want an email to be sent to the participating locations and you can chose if you want to skip certain days of the week, such as weekends.
- Send Pushdown Notification Email. When selected, Pacer will send an email to individuals at the receiving locations notifying them that the project has been assigned. Only individuals who have chosen to receive the email notification will receive the email. Each individual can also choose the locations for which they receive notifications. Email are sent in near real time.
- Select the Days that apply to this project. You may prefer for locations to not have tasks due on certain days of the week, such as weekends. Pacer will skip the days of week which are unchecked. Since the Target Date and Start Date are calculated using Days/Weeks Prior to the Zero Date, then the applicable day of week will be skipped in the calculation. Here's an example of how Pacer calculates the Target and Start Dates:
For this example, you have selected a Zero Date of Tuesday, January 25 and you unchecked Saturdays and Sundays.
1 Days Out is Monday, Jan 24
2 Days Out is Friday, Jan 21
3 Days Out is Thursday, Jan 20
6 Days Out is Friday, Jan 14
7 Days Out is Thursday, Jan 13
14 Days Out is Wednesday, Jan 5
