Update a Location Opening Date
Goal
Adjust a location’s Opening Date to reflect changes such as construction delays or early openings. Updating this date ensures task timelines stay aligned with the actual launch schedule.
Plan availability: Available on all plans (Standard feature).
How To
- Navigate to the Admin menu.
- Select Locations.
- Select the applicable location.
- Click on the current Opening Date to open the calendar.
- Select a new date.
- Select Save at the bottom of the page.
What Happens When You Change the Opening Date
If you are using the projects feature, changing the Location's opening date on the location's profile will have no effect on task target dates.
When the Opening Date is updated, task scheduling may automatically adjust based on the following rules:
- Task Start Dates and Target Dates shift by the same number of days as the Opening Date change.
- Tasks marked as Complete or Not Applicable will not be updated.
- Tasks tied to a Project will not be updated, as they follow the project’s Zero Date.
- If the “Adjust Dates if Opening Date changes” toggle is turned off, the task dates will not change.
- A history record is added to the location profile showing previous and updated Opening Dates.
- Opening Dates can be moved forward or backward in time.
Warning: Changing the Opening Date can impact multiple tasks at once. Review task settings, especially the “Adjust Dates if Opening Date changes” toggle, before making updates.
Tip: Use the location’s history record to track all Opening Date changes for audit and planning purposes.
