Goal
The Workload widget It's your tool to ensure balance, focus, and productivity across the board!
Use workload view as a heatmap style chart to determine how busy a group will be by day/week/month. The workload view has a few options of filtering the data which include by: Project, Department, Discipline, Location/Team, or Person, etc.
Some examples include:
- As a Project Manager, you can assign tasks during lighter weeks to avoid overwhelming teams.
- For a VP of Openings, it highlights when your above-property teams are overloaded, so you can adjust tasks and resources accordingly.
- Regional or Area leaders can see the upcoming workload across multiple locations in a single view, enabling you to guide teams to stay on track and start tasks early for timely completion.
- As a team or location leader / General Manager, you can use Workload to see how many tasks each of your team members has due in the coming weeks, so they can prepare and adjust accordingly.
How To
There are two different areas that you can access Workload View.
1. View workload across your entire organization
You can see the workload view on the Company Overview page. On this page you're able to see everything that your profile has access to. This includes any locations or team and the projects that are active at these locations, all combined into several charts. Scrolling down, you'll see the workload view chart that you can manipulate in the several ways:
- Change X-Axis layout from Month to Day or Week in the upper right corner
- Change the way your tasks are organized. The drop down menu in the upper left corner will change the way your tasks are organized on the Y-Axis.
- By default, this is set to All Uncompleted Tasks across all teams/locations. This will organize the amount of tasks by how many are due by date.
- A drop down menu will appear with several options of different ways to view your workload:
- Brand
- Continent
- Discipline (Disciplines are parents to departments)
- Department (the child of Disciplines)
- Location/Team
- Responsible User - This is designed to show you the tasks associated with individuals responsible for completing tasks across multiple teams and locations (e.g. Corporate or Regional level). Tasks will need to be assigned to individual's name, and that individual must have tasks in multiple teams/locations, to be included in this view.
- Apply a filter with the link in the upper right corner
2. View workload for a single team/location
The second area is by navigating to the Task page at the top of the screen. When your task page loads, in the upper right corner menu you'll notice that you're looking at your tasks in Table View. Clicking on Table View, a drop down menu will appear with a several options of different ways to view your tasks. If you select Workload View you'll be taken to a new screen.
Here you can:
- Change X-Axis layout from Month to Day or Week in the upper right corner
- Change the way your tasks are organized. The drop down menu in the upper left corner will change the way your tasks are organized on the Y-Axis.
- By default, this is set to Projects. This will organize the amount of tasks for certain projects and how many are due by month (unless you change your X-axis to weeks or days)
- Discipline - remember, disciplines are parents to departments
- Department - the child of Disciplines
- Responsible - As long as your tasks are assigned to users who have access to Pacer and access to this location, you'll see individual username
- Community - Tasks can be grouped by community, you'll only see the communities that you have access to
- Add filter with the button in the upper right corner
